14 Day Rule – NIP

Question:

The alleged offence took place on 07.04.x

I was not notified until 11.05.x, I seem to remember hearing somewhere that you must be notified within 14 days if so what do I do next.

If you are the registered keeper of the car then you need to be notified of the alleged offence within 14 days if you were not stopped at the time.

There are exceptions to the rule if the police have trouble tracking you down. For example if you have only just bought the car or if you have moved recently.
