As a provisional licence holder with fully comprehensive insurance cover, where would I stand if stopped on my own. Would I have the car taken off me at the road side?
You can have the car seized for driving without the correct licence or for driving without insurance. Your insurance may have been invalidated due to your lack of a full licence – so you might have committed both offences – so therefore yes your car can be seized.
