I was given a speeding ticket for excess speed on 11-04-x.
Upon re-reading the ticket I noticed that the officer had written my incorrect date of birth on the ticket despite being told the date twice and having the details on the screen on his dashboard.
As grounds for challenging this ticket does this constitute a worthwhile endeavour?
Appreciate your advice.
The mistake doesn’t constitute a defence I’m afraid. The ticket is not the officer’s evidence. Even if it was the court will only be interested in whether or not you were the driver and whether or not you accept the allegation that you were speeding at the time of the alleged offence.
Do you accept the speed alleged? What was it? Have you got any points already? If so, how many?
