I was just caught speeding. They used a very small camera thing to say I was doing 43 in a 30 zone. Along this long road I could not see speed camera signs.
The police were hidden by a large hedge. I believed I was doing 32 miles an hour. I did not want to sign the ticket, but was told I had to. Can this ticket stand or can I contest it?
best wishes
There is no legal requirement for speed trap warning signs. The police can hide if they so chose. The only requirement if you challenge the matter is that the police prove beyond reasonable doubt that you speeding at the time of the alleged offence. If they do you will be convicted.
If you reject the ticket and take the matter to court you will get higher fines and court costs. The ticket is just an offer to get the matter over and done with. The ticket is not the officer’s evidence.
