Hi, I was caught on a hand held speed gun by x police a few days ago. However I have been told that signs must be displayed on the road side or lampposts to indicate that speed cameras are operating in that area.
Is this in fact true or have I been misled and I am basically getting fined and 3 points without any chance of getting off. Thanks.
The requirement for speed camera warning signs is only a guideline. In order to convict you the police simply have to prove that you exceeded the speed limit for the road.
What’s the speed alleged and the limit for the road? Have you got any points already?
