I have today received a NIP for alleged excess speed 30mph {automatic/camera device/speed detection device} traveling at 36mph on 13/5/x. I have today been to the road but there are no camera or road markings, could I still be prosecution ? Many thanks
There is no legal requirement for warning signs in relation to the speed camera. The road needs to have speed limit warning signs unless there is a system of street lighting in place. If so the road is automatically a 30 mph limit and no signs are required I’m afraid.
Is there a system of street lighting? Have you got any points already? If so, how many?
