Stolen Identity

Question:

I think someone’s using my name down in London. I now live in x but my mother is down in x Essex. My mother said there are letters there so I asked her to open them and she told me it’s something about driving down in x which is impossible as I live in x and I don’t have a driving licence, only a provisional which is lost.

Do you recognise the registration number of the car involved? Has that car ever belonged to you?

You need to tell the police if you think someone has been using your identity. You will get court summonses/fines and penalty points if you do not address this issue so you need to act fast.

Make sure you are telling the truth otherwise you will be at risk of perverting the course of justice charges if it was you driving/stopped.
