I Took A Photo Of Them To Show They Were Not Compliant!

Question:

Speeding

I believe that I might have been caught by a handheld radar gun. The Person holding the Radar Gun was a Community Support Officer and the person standing next to them was writing down information but with no formal markings on there person.

I stopped and took photos as proof of their possible use of the detector while they were not compliant. Are Community Support Officers legally allowed to use speed radar guns etc…

Louise Says:

If it was a police officer then you will know about the offence within 14 days of the alleged speeding offence if you are the registered keeper of the car.

If the officer is using a radar/laser then there is no need for markings on the road. Markings are only required when it is an unmanned device.

Community officers are allowed to use these devices if they have been properly trained.

There is no requirement for an officer to be identified or wearing a uniform at the time.

Have you got any points already? If so, how many?
