Wrong Date Of Offence On Summons

Question:

Received summons for driving without due care and attention. The collision occurred on x on the summons paper it states the collision occurred on x two days before the incident happened. Can they get away with this discrepancy? Regards David

When the CPS spot the mistake on the summons they will apply to amend it. They can do this without any problems up until the time of the trial I’m afraid.

This mistake will not amount to a defence to the charge.
