Zig Zags Offence

Question:

My two back tyres were slightly on some zig zags marking, I wasn’t in my car but when I got back to it two police officers issued a £60 fine and 3 points on my licence. I can accept the fine but is it correct to receive the points when technically I wasn’t physically behind the wheel?

If the police can prove that you parked the car there then yes it is right that you get the point I’m afraid. The offence is stopping on the lines and if you returned to the vehicle then the court will reach the conclusion that you put it there in the first place I’m afraid.
